Where it belongs in your plan
The 5 US gallon figure is the container’s nominal volume. It is sold empty and does not make unsafe water drinkable. Consider where you will fill it, how you will carry it, and whether you need a pouring spout or a dispensing tap.
Before you choose
The source also lists a 2.5-gallon size. Select five gallons and protect the flexible walls from punctures; follow the manufacturer’s intended use and storage directions.
